Basic Function/Definition
This recruitment is to fill part-time assignment.
Essential Duties Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development , marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling. A bachelor's degree in one of the above listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline, pursuant to Title 5, Section 53410.1.

A valid California Community College Counselor Credential
OR
The equivalent.
AND
Demonstrate a sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Equivalencies
A Masters degree in education with an emphasis in counseling that includes a minimum of 24 graduate level units in counseling courses AND a graduate level counseling practicum or internship in a community college setting.
Responsibilities
Assignment may include teaching courses as assigned during day or evening, weekday or weekends or online.
Have a commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth in the fields of teaching.
Other professional responsibilities and activities normally expected of members of community college faculty as described by Board Policies and the California Education code.
Foreign Degrees
Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. Certification must be attached with copies of transcripts.
License Certificates/Credentials Desired Qualifications
Experience advising and counseling student athletes about certificates, associate degrees, and transfer requirements.
Working Conditions Position Description
