JOB SUMMARY: The High School Athletic Director leads the athletic department and oversees all athletic programming and operations. This role is responsible for scheduling athletic contests, maintaining facility calendars, ensuring student-athlete eligibility compliance, and coordinating event staff. Additionally, the Athletic Director ensures safe, well-maintained facilities, monitors coaching staff training compliance, and administers regular evaluations for coaching performance and program quality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Must be employed under the KUSD teacher contract
Certifications: valid teacher license
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead the athletic department within the high school
Schedules athletic contests and maintains the facility calendar
Ensures compliance with paperwork and eligibility requirements for student athletes
Coordinates and secures event staff for events.
Ensure facilities are safe and maintained.
Ensures compliance with coaching staff training.
Administers an evaluation process for coaching staff
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to move objects weight up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds occasionally; must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and complete repetitive motions on a regular basis; must be able to perform tasks requiring close visual acuity. Position is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions as well as subject to loud noise conditions.
