Position Summary
The Athletic Event Attendance Assistant is responsible for accurately tracking student attendance at designated home athletic events during the athletic seasons. This position plays an important role in supporting student engagement initiatives by ensuring attendance records are collected efficiently while providing excellent customer service to students attending events.
Primary Responsibilities
- Attend designated home athletic contests throughout the academic year.
- Set up and operate the attendance check-in process prior to each event.
- Verify student eligibility and accurately record attendance using the designated tracking system.
- Welcome students and provide friendly customer service at the check-in location.
- Troubleshoot minor check-in issues and refer more complex concerns to a supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Ensure attendance data is complete and submitted promptly following each event.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of attendance materials before and after events.
- Represent Center for Mission & Belonging and Athletics in a professional manner at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Mount St. Joseph University student.
- Work Study Eligibility required.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while checking in attendees.
- Basic proficiency with smartphones, tablets, or computers.
Work Schedule
- Hours are based on the home athletic event schedule during the academic year.
- Evening and weekend availability is required.
- A complete game schedule will be provided prior to each season.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for up to two hours at a time.
- Ability to lift and transport attendance materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
