JOB DESCRIPTION - ATHLETIC EVENT WORKER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Bremerton High School is seeking responsible and enthusiastic individuals to serve as Athletic Event Workers for home athletic contests. Athletic Event Workers assist the Athletic Director with setup, event operations, and breakdown of sporting events to ensure a smooth, safe, and welcoming experience for athletes, officials, and fans.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy sports and want to support our school's athletics program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Before the Event (Setup):

• Unlock gates, locker rooms, or facilities as directed
• Set up tables, chairs, signage, and rope barriers
• Prepare concession stand
• Hang team banners or event signage
• Place garbage/recycling bins around venue
• Set up scoreboard, clock, sound system, and communication devices
• Put out balls, equipment, water coolers, med kits, etc.
• Assist with entry gate/ticket booth setup

During the Event:

• Assist at ticket gates or scanning entry passes
• Act as a gate attendant or crowd liaison
• Operate scoreboard or shot clock
• Serve as scorebook keeper, announcer, or timer
• Deliver ice or water refills as needed
• Monitor bench areas or locker room entry points
• Support officials with directions or needs
• Be available for any tasks directed by the Athletic Director

After the Event (Clean-Up):

• Collect garbage, lost items, and equipment
• Wipe down or pack up tables/chairs
• Lock up gates, locker rooms, or press box
• Return radios, scorebooks, and any event equipment
• Help store uniforms or equipment if needed
• Assist in concession clean-up
