    Description

    Job Description: The person in this position will assist in the general supervision of all athletic facilities, perform regular rounds to monitor usage, oversee student staff at assigned locations, and enforce facility rules and regulations. They will also provide game-day support for event management at home athletic contests.

    Location: Glenside

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitors general operations of the Kuch Center and other athletic facilities during assigned shifts while performing regular rounds to oversee usage, and following protocols for opening and closing of facilities.

    • Assists in monitoring safety, security, and cleanliness of athletic facilities.

    • Oversees student staff at designated locations and ensures enforcement of facility rules and regulations.

    • Provides quality communication with supervisor, Public Safety, and Facilities regarding emergency situations.

    • Supplies game management support during home athletic events, including event oversight, crowd control, visiting team and officials liaison, setup, breakdown, and sport-specific operational support.

    • Serves as a game clock operator, shot clock operator, or public address announcer for assigned athletic events.

    • Works rentals of athletic facilities from external groups to serve as a site supervisor and enforce emergency protocols.

    • Contributes to the overall success of the department by fulfilling other responsibilities as assigned by a representative of the Athletics Department

    Essential Job Requirements:

    Education:

    • Associate''s degree from accredited college or university is required.

    • Bachelor''s degree preferred.

    • Combination of degree completion and professional work experience will be considered in absence of associate''s degree.

    Experience:

    • Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in athletics or related field strongly preferred.

    • Prior health club, fitness center, or facility management shifts preferred.

    • Basic knowledge of game operations of various sports preferred. Experience with basketball and lacrosse game operations strongly preferred.

    Skills:

    • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, whether dealing with individuals or groups, and an ability to work well with different constituents.

    • Strong initiative, detail, and follow-up skills with student-athletes, staff members, and administration.

    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

    • Ability to set and achieve or exceed goals and meet deadlines.

    • Ability to learn and apply University policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance and reliable judgement.

    • General computer knowledge with a proficiency in Word and Excel.

    Special Requirements:

    • Must be a current Arcadia Athletics staff member with a working knowledge of athletic facilities and general operations.

    • Evening and weekend availability is required.

    • Flexibility with an evolving work environment is important.

    • Valid driver''s license required.

    • Ability to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test.

    • Current CPR, AED, and first aid certifications required. Training and recertification can be provided if necessary.

    • Compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations required.

    • Compliance with athletic conference rules and regulations required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to move about campus and other locations.

    • Physical ability to include standing and/or walking for long periods, bending, kneeling and stooping, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

    Supervision:

    • Received: Position reports to the Coordinator of Athletic Facilities & Events.

    • Given: Supervises student workers.
