Positions: Athletic Student Affairs Coordinator

The Athletics & Student Affairs Coordinator provides leadership in the planning, organization, supervision, and evaluation of district athletic programs and student engagement initiatives. The Coordinator promotes academic achievement, sportsmanship, student leadership, wellness, school culture, and equitable participation while ensuring compliance with district policies, New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association regulations, and state laws.

Reports to: Director of Athletics and/or IHS Principal

Qualifications:

  • Valid New Jersey instructional certificate required.
  • New Jersey Supervisor or School Administrator certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of five (3) years of successful educational experience.
  • Coaching and/or athletic administration experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of NJSIAA rules, eligibility requirements, and athletic administration.
  • Demonstrated leadership in student engagement, discipline, attendance initiatives, and school climate.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license.

Responsibilities:

Athletics

  • Coordinate all district athletic programs and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with NJSIAA regulations and Board policies.
  • Coordinate athletic schedules, officials, transportation, facilities, and game management.
  • Assist with hiring, supervising, and evaluating coaches.
  • Monitor athletic budgets, equipment, and inventory.
  • Oversee student-athlete eligibility and academic monitoring.
  • Promote sportsmanship and positive school culture.
  • Coordinate athletic awards and recognition programs.
  • Assist with risk management and student safety procedures.

Student Affairs

  • Develop and coordinate student leadership initiatives.
  • Support attendance improvement efforts.
  • Coordinate student recognition and incentive programs.
  • Assist administrators with student discipline initiatives.
  • Plan student assemblies, orientation, leadership conferences, and special events.
  • Promote student voice and engagement.
  • Coordinate community service and volunteer opportunities.
  • Support restorative practices and positive behavior initiatives.
  • Collaborate with counselors, social workers, and student support teams.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Analyze participation and student outcome data.
  • Prepare Board presentations and reports.
  • Collaborate with school administrators and community organizations.
  • Assist with emergency management related to athletic events.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
  • Managing student uniforms and equipment.

Program Duration: 12-Month (or as determined by the Board of Education)

Hours: TBD

Salary: Competitive salary in accordance with the Board-approved salary guide and experience.
