Job Description
Location: Northern Virginia (Various Sites)
Employment Type: Part-Time (30-39 hours/week, Benefits Eligible)
Pay Rate: $20-25/hour for In-Clinic Hours, $50/hour for Event Coverage
We are seeking a Part-Time Athletic Trainer to join our team in a hybrid role combining clinic-based care and event coverage. This position offers consistent hours with benefits eligibility, along with flexible scheduling options.
Key Responsibilities
Event Coverage:
- Provide on-site injury evaluation and acute care at athletic events
- Make return-to-play decisions based on clinical judgment and best practices
- Communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and staff
- Coordinate care and referrals when necessary
- Maintain appropriate documentation for injuries and services provided
- Maintain readiness of event medical equipment by verifying kit contents and AED functionality prior to coverage; coordinate post-event equipment return and communicate any supply replenishment needs.
In-Clinic Responsibilities:
- Assist physical therapists with patient care and clinic flow
- Support exercise supervision and implementation of treatment plans
- Complete documentation and administrative support tasks as needed

Qualifications
- Licensed Athletic Trainer in Virginia (or eligible)
- CPR/AED certification (current)
- Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
- Ability to manage both clinical and field responsibilities
- CSCS/NASM/ACSM/ISSA (preferred)
- Ability to adapt to variable scheduling needs including covering at different clinics
Schedule & Flexibility
- 30-39 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling with a combination of clinic hours and event coverage
