Henry Ford Health is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Athletic Trainer to support our student athletes at Mercy High School. About Mercy High School:

Mercy High School, established in 1945, is a single gender private preparatory school located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The school's lengthy history began in 1945 when the Sisters of Mercy opened Our Lady of Mercy High School at Outer Drive and Southfield Roads in Detroit. The Sisters of Mercy established the school to offer young women the opportunity to receive a value-centered education in an environment of academic excellence. As enrollment grew, Mercy relocated to a new and larger building in Farmington Hills in 1965. Mercy is proud of its 17,000+ alumnae throughout the world who are now making a difference. The student body is made up of young women from over 70 metropolitan Detroit communities. Participating in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Class A athletics, Mercy offers more than 22 sport programs to its students. The athletic trainer will complete approximately 900 hours of coverage at Mercy High School annually, with the bulk of the hours occurring during the school year. However, as this is a full-time position, additional hours will be dedicated in Sports Medicine/Orthopedic physician clinic and other duties will be assigned.

What Youll Do:

  • Provide athletic training services to our athletes at Mercy High School.
  • Be the liaison between Henry Ford Health and Mercy High School to help coordinate various appointments within the health system.
  • Collaborate with assigned Henry Ford Health team physician and various healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
  • Play a hands-on role in helping athletes reach their peak performance by delivering individualized care for both injuries and overall wellness.
  • Educate on best practices for maintaining health and promote long-term wellness.
  • Expand your skills by offering services beyond the school, including assisting in physician clinics, community outreach, and engagement events.

What Were Looking For:

  • Board of Certification (ATC) and Michigan state licensure (or eligibility to obtain before hire).
  • A post-professional masters degree in athletic training or related field is preferred, along with two years of experience (can be combination of education and experience).
  • Strong ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge and adherence to NCAA, NJCAA, and MHSAA policies, with a commitment to supporting community outreach programs.

Additional Skills or Certifications:

  • Additional certifications like CSCS, PES, FMS, CKTP, EMT are highly valued.
