The City of Norfolk's Department of Parks and Recreation is currently seeking an Athletics Groundskeeper. The Athletics Groundskeeper will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled tasks in connection with the maintenance of athletic fields and stadium grounds. Work involves performing specialized and exacting duties in marking and otherwise preparing the field for football, baseball, soccer, field hockey, field events for track and other sports. Operates and maintains vehicles and equipment. Norfolk's department of Parks and Recreation is proud to announce it has been awarded national accreditation by the Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies. Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of high school or possession of GED certificate. 3-6 months experience in preparation of athletic fields. Valid Driver's License required Registered Pesticide Technician for Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification required within six (6) months of employment. CPR/First Aid Certification within six (6) months of employment.
