JOB TITLE: Athletics Operations Manager / REPORTS TO: Athletic Director Assistant Baseball Coach DEPARTMENT: Athletics START DATE: Immediately CLASSIFICATION: Full Time Hourly Staff SALARY: $25,0 00 Athletic Facilities and Operations Manager $1,500 Assistant Baseball Coach General Function: Assist the Athletic Director with operations of the Hord Sports Complex. Responsible for all aspects of maintenance for the Hord Sports Complex including support facilities, area grounds around the fields and front entrance, turf and irrigation, spo rts field and area lighting, parking, materials, building maint enance, and equipment. Responsibilities include supervision of staff, financial management, resource and equipment management, managing lease/license agreements, coordination with agencies, and marketing. Duties and Responsibilities: - Fulfill the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the Andrew College department of athletics . - This is a full time 12 -month position . - Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director . - Oversee and perform grounds mowing, trimming, spraying, trash removal, tree pruning, and debris removal in assigned areas. - Maintain the Sports Complex property by removing debris, trash, graffiti, and dead animals. - Inspect and operate field maintenance equipment, irrigation equipment, mowers, and sports equipment daily and makes necessary repairs. - Assist in new projects by constructing walks, trails, bridges, landscaping, and other concrete finishing installations. - Direct and supervise assigned staff. - Assist in the purchasing of materials and equipment as well as developing and maintaining yearly budgets. Assist other departments as needed. - Develop a working knowledge of turf grass maintenance and sports field practices. - Assist in overseeing the security system and monitor the IT services to buildings. - Develop a working knowledge of the day-to-day needs of baseball, softball, and soccer leagues and tournaments. - Concession stand building including restrooms is to be maintained and cleaned on a regular basis as needed. - Ensures that concessions stand at Hord Field is open, stocked, and staffed for every home baseball or softball game utilizing work -study students. - Assist in coordinating with other departments and agencies for special events. - Responsible for maintenance of college bus and vans. This includes everyday upkeep and needs of the vehicles to always function in a safe and reliable manner. This includes scheduling of oil changes, tire rotations, cleaning, washing, repairs, etc. - Performs other duties as may be assigned Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with training past high school from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school. - Knowledge of practices, procedures and techniques related to sports fields and turf maintenance. - General Knowledge of irrigation system maintenance. - Public relations skills and the ability to foster relationships with Andrew College Staff and commu nity partnerships. - Ability to function as a lead worker performing essentially the same work as those directed, and includes training, instructing and scheduling work. - Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. - Ability to effectively lead and instruct assigned staff in the accomplishment of duties. - Ability to assist in implementing safety plans for staff and facility patrons. - Ability to enforce appropriate laws, policies, and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. - Ability to maint ain regular and predictable attendance. - Ability to use l arge and small mowing and trimming equipment, tractors of different sizes, chain saw, pole saw, air compressor, spray rig, and backpack sprayer. - Use of r ubber gloves, safety glasses, hardhat , steel toe boots, ear protection, back brace, and weather gear. - Use of computer and related software, vehicle, and grounds carts. Working Conditions - While performing the duties of this job you may be required to lift and/or move heavy items. You will also be required to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends. - Daily routine of work hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm year round. Minimum Requirements: - Experience in developing and managing budgets and service contracts . - Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies; conduct site inspections to ensure compliance . - Strong orientation towards customer service . - Physical strength and abilities to repair and maneuver field equipment and heavy loads . - Good driving record with ability to drive Andrew College vehicles . - Must be dependable, flexible and willing to work additional hours during peak periods, including weekends and holidays. - Must be authorized for unrestricted employment in the United States indefinitely with no immigration sponsorship needed.
