Position Overview:

The Ticket Sales and Concessions Staff role is essential to providing a positive and enjoyable experience for spectators attending athletic events at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). This position involves selling tickets, handling cash transactions, managing concessions, and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

Ticket Sales Duties:

• Operate ticket sales and checks during athletic events, ensuring efficient and accurate ticket sales.
• Handle cash, credit card, and digital transactions securely and responsibly.
• Maintain accurate records of ticket sales and reconcile cash drawers at the end of shifts.
• Assist in setting up and taking down ticket sales areas before and after events.

Concessions Duties:

• Set up and prepare concession stands before events, ensuring all products are properly stocked and displayed.
• Serve food and beverages to customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Operate concession stand equipment such as popcorn machines, hot dog roller and warmers
• Handle cash, credit card, and digital transactions securely and responsibly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of concession areas throughout events.
• Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.

Customer Service:

• Provide friendly and helpful service to all patrons, addressing any questions or concerns.
• Assist customers with special needs or requests to ensure an inclusive and accessible experience.
• Manage lines and crowd flow at ticket and concession areas to maintain a smooth and enjoyable experience for attendees.

Learning Objectives:

• Gain valuable experience in customer service, sales, and food service operations.
• Opportunity to work closely with the athletics department and support TCNJ's athletic programs.
• Develop transferable skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, or food service.
• Familiarity with athletic events and facilities.
