Employment Type: 6-month W2 Contract (potential to extend / convert)
Pay: $85-89 / HR

Position Overview

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Senior Atlassian Solutions Architect to lead the design, configuration, and optimization of a complex Atlassian environment supporting engineering, product development, marketing, and new product introduction (NPI).

This individual will serve as the primary technical expert for Jira Software, Jira Product Discovery (JPD), and Confluence, creating a seamless Discovery-to-Delivery ecosystem that connects product strategy with engineering execution and go-to-market activities.

The ideal candidate combines deep Atlassian administration expertise with the ability to understand complex hardware and product development workflows and translate them into scalable digital processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, configure, administer, and optimize Jira Software, Jira Product Discovery, and Confluence environments.

• Design complex Jira workflows, custom issue types, fields, screens, permissions, automation rules, and project templates.

• Create scalable Discovery-to-Delivery workflows connecting product ideas, prioritization, development, NPI, and product launches.

• Configure and manage Jira Product Discovery, including idea boards, custom views, prioritization frameworks, and matrix layouts.

• Build Jira Plans / Advanced Roadmaps to provide visibility into product milestones, dependencies, resource planning, and release readiness.

• Translate hardware and physical product development processes into structured Jira workflows, including Industrial Design, Packaging, Memory Qualification, Engineering, and NPI.

• Develop Jira processes for Marketing and Creative teams to manage packaging artwork, regulatory/legal labeling, digital assets, and go-to-market deliverables.

• Configure tracking for hardware-specific information such as SKUs, Bill of Materials (BOM) references, certifications, and product dependencies.

• Integrate Atlassian tools with engineering and enterprise platforms such as GitHub, PLM, ERP, CAD management, and compliance systems.

• Develop dashboards and reporting that provide leadership with real-time visibility into product development and launch readiness.

• Manage user provisioning, security groups, global permissions, platform governance, and system audits.

• Identify and eliminate workflow complexity, unused configurations, and technical debt within the Atlassian environment.

• Develop automation using Jira Automation, JQL, REST APIs, ScriptRunner, and/or Python.

• Establish Confluence standards, templates, blueprints, macros, and governance for high-volume technical documentation.

• Develop training materials and conduct workshops for a user community of 200+ employees.

• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Industrial Design, Marketing, Creative, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to continuously improve processes and platform adoption.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience administering and architecting Jira Software in Cloud and/or Data Center environments.

• Advanced knowledge of Jira workflows, custom issue types, custom fields, permissions, schemes, automation, and project configuration.

• Hands-on experience implementing and configuring Jira Product Discovery (JPD).

• Strong experience with Jira Plans / Advanced Roadmaps.

• Advanced proficiency with JQL and Jira Automation.

• Experience with ScriptRunner, REST APIs, Python, or similar tools for integrations and custom automation.

• Strong Confluence administration experience, including macros, templates, blueprints, permissions, and content governance.

• Experience integrating Atlassian products with engineering and enterprise applications.

• Ability to translate complex business and product development processes into scalable Jira workflows.

• Experience supporting cross-functional product development environments involving Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Operations, or NPI

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting hardware, semiconductor, electronics, consumer technology, or other physical product development environments.

• Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) and product lifecycle processes.

• Experience supporting workflows involving SKUs, BOMs, packaging, regulatory requirements, or product certifications.

• Experience supporting large Atlassian environments with 200+ users.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
