    Job Description

    East Bridgewater Junior-Senior High School is seeking applicants for an Attendance Clerk position.

    Attendance Clerk: Manages student tracking, greets visitors at the office window, and processes daily records.

    Job Summary: The Attendance Clerk maintains accurate daily student attendance records, interacts with students and parents at the office window, and supports school administrative operations.

    Key Responsibilities: Window & Reception Duties: Greet late students, issue tardy or readmit slips, and handle early dismissal passes for students leaving campus.

    Record Keeping: Enter daily absence, tardy, and early dismissal data accurately into the school computer database.

    Parent Communication: Call or email parents to verify unverified absences and collect written parent notes or doctor excuses.

    Report Generation: Compile daily, weekly, and monthly attendance reports for teachers and school principals.

    • Track daily student attendance, verify legitimacy of student excuses, prepare, and communicate necessary attendance reports.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all information obtained for East Bridgewater's students and families in accordance with applicable law and district policy.
    • Communicate with parents, students, staff, etc. in person, by telephone or letter for the purpose of providing information on a variety of attendance issues and meeting district and state absence notification requirements.
    • Ensure accuracy of attendance records, including verification of forgeries and truancies for the purpose of complying with State laws governing attendance accounting.
    • Maintain a variety of attendance records, schedules, and files (paper and electronic) (e.g., contact and telephone logs, student attendance, school calendars, etc.) for the purpose of providing reliable information in compliance with district policies.
    • Prepare, sort and file various student records including those regarding discipline and attendance.
    • Prepare a variety of reports, written materials and correspondence.
    • Communicate with parents, students and staff regarding enrollment and attendance.
    • Creating and disseminating letters to parents of students with excessive absences.
    • Provide administrative support to the building administration, including receiving visitors, taking phone calls, and setting appointments. (provide lunch and breakfast coverage)
    • Other duties as assigned by district or building administration.

    Hours: 7:00AM-2:30PM Scheduled Work Year: 200 days
