We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and collaborative physician to become a part of our expanding Palliative Care Division within the Department of Medicine. Our organization, recognized as an academic medical center, is dedicated to delivering exceptional clinical care, pioneering research, and training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

The Palliative Care Division achieves this mission through a multidisciplinary approach, engaging a diverse team that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, physical and respiratory therapists, and case managers. Our facility is situated in downtown Boston, in close proximity to a prestigious medical school, and is a proud member of a comprehensive healthcare system. We are renowned for our research in basic, translational, and clinical sciences, as well as our expertise in health policy. Our institution ranks among the top 10% of independent entities receiving federal research funding, and we are committed to transforming innovative research into groundbreaking patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct clinical care in both inpatient consultative services and outpatient settings within our collaborative physician network.
  • Engage in innovative palliative care initiatives at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Contribute to the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows at the main teaching hospital affiliated with the medical school.
  • Potentially serve as the director for a Hospice and Palliative Fellowship for qualified candidates.
  • While a strong interest in outpatient palliative care and community outreach is encouraged, it is not mandatory.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Hospice and Palliative Care medicine.
  • Exceptional teaching abilities and a passion for research are essential.
  • We seek a collaborative team player eager to work with a diverse range of stakeholders and disciplines to promote innovative research.
  • A commitment to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration is highly valued.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary that reflects academic training and professional experience. An appointment at the medical school will be provided based on academic credentials. Additional benefits include:

  • Comprehensive retirement plan
  • Continuing Medical Education (CME) funds and time off
  • Generous vacation and holiday policies

The salary range for this position is between $230,491 and $261,334 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the hiring process and will consider various factors, including relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.

We are a leading integrated health system that combines the strengths of academic and community healthcare to provide exceptional, connected, and accessible care experiences across Massachusetts. Our network includes a variety of hospitals and an extensive home care service, ensuring comprehensive healthcare solutions for our communities.
