We are proud to serve the people of Louisiana with integrity, innovation, and a deep commitment to equity.Position OverviewTitle: Attorney (Attorney1‑3) – Support Enforcement Services, State and District Offices.Responsible for high‑impact duties related to support cases involving non‑custodial and custodial parents regarding established visitation.Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice law.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and try civil suits in courts of primary jurisdiction and in appellate courts involving visitation case issues where the agency was unsuccessful in obtaining a consent judgment.Interview non‑custodial and custodial parents to devise a visitation judgment/plan.Prepare judgments, memoranda, and correspondence on legal matters and maintain records of actions taken.Provide legal analysis and interpretation of state and federal statutes, rules, and regulations to ensure agency compliance.Conduct research into regional services to assist parents and establish relationships with service providers.Establish working relationships with support enforcement services staff, district attorney staff, judiciary, court personnel, clerks of court, area‑wide officials, and law enforcement officers.Serve as legal counsel to Child Support Enforcement Services on general questions of law related to visitation matters.Appointment and Work DetailsAppointment Type: Probational or job appointment up to 48 months; may convert; may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.Work Schedule: Typically 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday; flexible schedules available under criteria; some positions require shifts.Work Location: Orleans Parish.Career Progression: May be filled as Attorney1‑3 depending on qualifications.CompensationAttorney1: $27.08 hourly (AS‑619)Attorney2: $28.98 hourly (AS‑620)Attorney3: $33.18 hourly (AS‑622)BenefitsInsurance Coverage: More information can be found at Leave: Up to six weeks paid parental leave.
