Job Description
This is a non-merit position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.

The Iowa Public Information Board was created to provide a free, efficient way for Iowans to receive information and resolve complaints related to chapters 21 and 22, Iowa's open meetings and public records laws. The mission of the agency is to further state and local government transparency and foster informed citizen participation through education, training, dispute resolution, and enforcement activities concerning Iowa Code Chapters 21 and 22, Iowa's open meeting and public records laws.
The IPIB is seeking an attorney with experience and comfort in investigation of legal issues and complaints as well as providing education and support to the public, the media, and government bodies. The IPIB is a small agency, so the ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and writing skills and thrive on playing an active role in the success of the agency's mission.
