The Attorney 1 role is a key position within the Board. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting legal research and preparing written reports.
- Responding to law‑related inquiries in a timely and confidential manner.
- Assisting staff attorneys with investigations involving professional misconduct of educators, with an emphasis on cases not involving criminal convictions.
- Drafting, analyzing, and reviewing subpoenas and public records requests.
- Preparing cases for administrative review of disciplinary action, including editing and proofreading documents and drafting interview and document summaries.
- Attending administrative hearings.
- Reviewing hearing officer reports and recommendations.
- Responding to inquiries from agency employees, government officials, and the public.
- Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code
