This is a high-impact role working directly with companies ranging from early-stage tech to established operators on protecting, monetizing, and leveraging intellectual property in real-world business contexts. The work is not siloed. You’ll be collaborating across corporate, litigation, and regulatory teams to deliver practical, forward-thinking solutions to clients navigating complex commercial and technology-driven issues.

Job Details
  • 5+ years of experience in intellectual property and/or technology law
  • Active Illinois bar license
  • Experience with IP counseling, transactions, or litigation support
  • Strong understanding of how IP ties into business strategy and growth
  • Ability to operate in a client-facing, advisory-heavy environment

***Bonus: technical background (CS, EE, life sciences, etc.) or experience with complex technologies
  • Advise clients on IP strategy, protection, and commercialization
  • Handle patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters
  • Draft and negotiate IP licensing and technology agreements
  • Support IP-related transactions (M&A, financing, due diligence)
  • Manage or assist with IP disputes and enforcement strategy
  • Counsel on digital, data, and emerging technology issues, including e-commerce and evolving regulatory considerations
