A civil litigation practice representing public entities is seeking a Senior Civil Litigation Attorney for its Citrus Heights office. This position is suited for attorneys with extensive trial experience who are interested in handling complex civil matters involving government clients.
The role involves active courtroom participation and management of litigation matters from inception through verdict.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of civil litigation from case inception through verdict
- Conduct discovery, depositions, and motion practice
- Prepare and argue motions in limine, conduct jury selection, and handle trials
- Perform legal research and draft briefs, pleadings, and related documents
- Interview clients and witnesses, and maintain communication records
- Attend hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
- Provide regular case updates to clients
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations
- Represent public entities in civil litigation matters
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of civil litigation experience
- First-chair trial experience with at least 10 jury trials and 5 bench trials to verdict
- Strong knowledge of the California Evidence Code and civil procedure
- Active California Bar license in good standing
- Experience representing public entities preferred
Compensation:
- Salary range: $200,000 – $235,000 (DOE)
