Construction Litigation Attorney – Mechanics Lien Focus
St. Louis, Missouri | Hybrid Flexibility

A highly regarded litigation firm with a strong construction practice is seeking a Construction Litigation Attorney with mechanics lien experience to join its team in St. Louis. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working directly with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and property owners to resolve payment disputes on construction projects.

The firm has a steady pipeline of construction-related work and represents clients across the industry in matters involving mechanics liens, bond claims, and construction contract disputes.

What You'll Work On

This role focuses heavily on mechanics lien strategy, enforcement, and litigation. Attorneys in the group help clients protect their right to payment while navigating the strict statutory requirements that govern lien claims.

Typical matters include:

  • Preparing and filing mechanics lien notices and lien statements

  • Advising clients on lien perfection and statutory compliance

  • Handling lien foreclosure actions

  • Representing property owners in lien challenges and removal

  • Managing payment bond claims on public and private projects

  • Litigating construction contract and payment disputes

The position offers meaningful client interaction and the opportunity to work on matters from initial lien strategy through litigation and resolution.

Ideal Candidate

The firm is seeking an attorney who:

  • Has 5+ years of litigation experience, ideally involving mechanics liens

  • Is comfortable navigating statutory lien requirements and deadlines

  • Enjoys working closely with construction industry clients

  • Has strong writing, analytical, and litigation skills

  • Is licensed in Missouri and Illinois, or is willing to obtain admission in the additional jurisdiction

Attorneys with construction litigation, creditor rights, or commercial litigation experience who are interested in developing deeper expertise in mechanics lien law are encouraged to apply.

Why Consider This Opportunity

  • Active construction litigation practice with strong demand for mechanics lien work

  • Opportunity to develop niche expertise in construction payment disputes

  • Supportive litigation team with strong mentorship

  • Hybrid work flexibility

  • Competitive compensation and benefits

This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney who wants to build a long-term practice representing construction industry clients in complex payment disputes and lien enforcement matters.

While this job could be fully remote, there will be initial onboarding in the firm's St Louis office.
