Prospective team members will join a collaborative environment focused on high-quality legal advocacy and long-term client relationships.Role DescriptionThe Attorney will work on a full time, on-site basis in Detroit, MI, providing legal representation and counsel to clients across the firm's core land use practice areas. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, and other legal documents; conducting legal research and analysis; and advising clients on litigation strategy, risk management, and compliance. The role involves appearing in court and administrative proceedings, negotiating settlements and agreements, and participating in client meetings and calls to discuss case status and legal options. The Attorney will collaborate with colleagues on case strategy, contribute to business development efforts, and maintain accurate case files and billing records.QualificationsStrong foundation in Law, with experience handling matters in complex litigation, land use, and related practice areas.Demonstrated ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to businesses, religious organizations, financial institutions, and nonprofits.Advanced Research skills for case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents to support written work and courtroom advocacy.Effective Negotiation skills for settlements, contracts, and dispute resolution across commercial and employment matters.Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Michigan, or eligibility for admission.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong drafting, analytical, and organizational abilities.Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines, work collaboratively in a team setting, and maintain high ethical standards.Prior experience with land use, zoning, religious organizations, or nonprofit representation is highly beneficial.#J-18808-Ljbffr
