    Description

    A boutique law firm in downtown Chicago is seeking an attorney with 2–5+ years of experience in tax planning, estate planning, private wealth management, or a related practice area to join its growing team. The firm is comprised of a select group of partners, attorneys, tax professionals, and support staff who work collaboratively to deliver sophisticated planning solutions for high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys personalized client relationships, complex planning matters, and working in a tight-knit environment. The firm is also open to more experienced candidates who are seeking a lateral partnership move or a track toward partnership.

    Responsibilities

    • Advise high-net-worth individuals and families on advanced estate, gift, and income tax planning strategies
    • Draft and implement sophisticated estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, family entities, and related structures
    • Counsel business owners on succession planning, wealth transfer, and tax-efficient ownership strategies
    • Collaborate with the firm's attorneys and tax professionals on integrated planning solutions
    • Review existing plans and recommend strategies based on changing tax laws and client goals
    • Maintain strong client relationships through responsive, high-touch service
    • Participate in business development and long-term practice growth initiatives

    Qualifications

    • J.D. with active Illinois Bar license in good standing (or ability to waive in if applicable)
    • 2–5+ years of experience in tax planning, estate planning, private wealth, or a closely related area
    • Strong knowledge of estate, gift, income, and wealth transfer planning concepts
    • Experience working with high-net-worth or closely held business clients strongly preferred
    • Excellent drafting, communication, and analytical skills
    • Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating in a team setting

    For Senior Candidates

    • The firm is open to experienced attorneys seeking a lateral move at the partner or counsel level

    • Portable business is welcomed but not required depending on background

    • Monday through Friday schedule
