We are seeking a knowledgeable and dependable attorney to provide part-time legal support for MA and CT multi-location new car dealership group. This role is ideal for a legal professional who enjoys working in a dynamic business environment and partnering closely with leadership to provide practical, business-minded guidance. The successful candidate will help support a range of day-to-day legal matters affecting dealership operations, compliance, contracting, and risk management. This position would be Part Time with the possibility of remote work.
Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and counsel on matters related to dealership operations, business transactions, and general corporate needs.
Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including vendor contracts, service agreements, employment-related documents, and commercial leases as needed.
Assist with regulatory and compliance matters affecting automotive retail operations.
Support leadership with risk assessment, dispute resolution, and issue escalation.
Help develop and maintain policies and procedures that support legal compliance and operational consistency across locations.
Coordinate with outside counsel when specialized legal support is required.
Advise on employment, consumer, and business law issues relevant to dealership activities.
Monitor legal developments that may affect the organization and communicate practical recommendations.
Maintain organized records of legal matters, contracts, and correspondence.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
Experience providing legal support to automotive dealerships, multi-location retail operations, or closely related businesses preferred.
Strong knowledge of contract law, employment law, and general business law.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in consumer-facing businesses.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to offer practical, solution-oriented legal guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Professional judgment, discretion, and a high level of integrity.
