We are a full-service law firm established in 2002, focused on the representation of mortgage lenders, servicers, financial institutions, credit unions and private investors in financial, residential, and commercial matters.About the RoleThe employee monitors all proceedings and attends necessary hearings. In person appearances are occasionally required but efforts are made to keep travel to a minimum. The employee reports to the firm and the client the results of all hearings and establishes any necessary strategy/procedure necessary to the maintenance of each case, including managing litigated files as they arise. The employee responds to client inquiries on the law, process, and procedure and assists clients in establishing proper protocols where necessary. As a RSM Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal advice to our clients, conducting research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesRepresenting secured creditors, financial institutions, and mortgage servicers in all stages of the default processManaging and maintaining default files in accordance with the firm's compliance requirementsReviewing and signing documents in the default process, including motions, notices, affidavits, and other pleadingsReviewing and compiling documents required for the default processResearching and analyzing statutes, judicial decisions, administrative law, and local rulesAttending hearings, mediations, trials, settlement conferences, and other appearances, as necessaryHandling client inquiries in a timely and competent manner through various case management systems, phone, and emailProperly using and relying on the firm's case management system and reporting to ensure legal and client deadlines are adhered toMaximizing client billing opportunities while maintaining a clear focus on compliance expectations by prioritizing and working at a fast pace on a high volume of casesQualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience preferably in the default servicing industryLitigation experience preferredJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdictionStrong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal principlesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmentStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesPartial remote work is available provided all work is timely and consistently completed.
