Job description
- Take ownership of litigation matters from initial case assessment through trial, arbitration, and resolution
- Draft and argue pleadings, motions, and discovery in employment defense and business litigation cases
- Conduct depositions and appear confidently in court, mediation, and negotiation proceedings
- Advise employer clients on workplace compliance, HR policies, and risk mitigation strategies
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and business agreements
- Support entity formation, corporate governance, and transactional matters including M&A
- Partner closely with clients as a trusted legal and business advisor — not just their lawyer
- Collaborate with a nimble, entrepreneurial team on complex, multi-faceted matters
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license (required)
- 2+ years of experience in litigation and/or business law (employment defense experience a strong plus)
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience with depositions and courtroom appearances preferred
- Excellent client communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter with a team-oriented mindset and genuine drive to excel
- Experience in in-house counsel or solo practice backgrounds welcome
