Labor, Energy & Regulatory Attorney
A mission-driven California law firm is seeking an attorney with 2+ years of relevant legal experience to work on matters involving union-side labor law, energy and utilities, CPUC, environmental and land use issues, and regulatory and administrative law.
The Role
The attorney will represent labor unions and public interest clients in legal and regulatory matters, provide legal advice, participate in negotiations, and appear before administrative agencies, legislative bodies, and courts. Responsibilities also include drafting briefs, motions, and regulatory filings; conducting legal research and policy analysis; working with technical experts; and handling matters involving public works, prevailing wage compliance, labor arbitrations, and contract negotiations.
Candidate Profile
Candidates should have completed an accredited law school and have strong research, writing, and analytical skills. Experience in labor law, energy, utilities, or related regulatory work is preferred, as is experience with unions or public interest organizations. A writing sample is will be requested.
Compensation & Work Arrangement
Base salary is depending on experience, with flexibility for highly experienced attorneys. The compensation structure also includes a discretionary year-end bonus and profit sharing, subject to vesting.
The position offers a flexible schedule with no strict in-office requirement. Candidates must be within commuting distance of South San Francisco or Sacramento for hearings and other in-person needs.
Salary Range: $120,000–$180,000
