We are a well-established California defense firm focused on Workers' Compensation matters. Our attorneys represent employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, self-insured organizations, municipalities, and other public and private entities throughout California.

We are looking for a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with at least 1 year of workers' compensation experience to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to continue developing their litigation skills while working alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Job Details

The attorney will handle a California workers' compensation defense caseload while working closely with clients, claims professionals, attorneys, and support staff.

Responsibilities may include:

• Managing workers' compensation matters from inception through resolution
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Reviewing medical records, reports, and discovery
• Working with AMEs, QMEs, treating physicians, and other experts
• Appearing before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board
• Attending Mandatory Settlement Conferences, hearings, lien conferences, and trials
• Preparing pleadings, correspondence, reports, and legal analysis
• Negotiating settlements and developing case strategy
• Advising employers, carriers, TPAs, and self-insured clients regarding claims
• Maintaining regular communication with clients and providing practical litigation recommendations

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing
• 1+ year of workers' compensation experience required
• Workers' compensation defense experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with California workers' compensation law and WCAB procedures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and case-management abilities
• Comfortable handling depositions and appearances
• Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a team
