    Description

    Audio Visual Technician

    Alpha Academy is in search of an Audio Visual Technician that is self motivated and has a mind-set to resolve issues. You should be able to perform equipment sets up, operate audio and video equipment, maintain, and perform basic repairs and installation of equipment like microphones, projectors, soundboards, video switchers, playback devices, Cameras, PTZ and video displays. You should be able to ensure high-quality sound and visual performance for live events, corporate meetings, and educational spaces.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Setup and Installation: Assemble, mount, and connect speakers, microphones, video displays, projectors, mixing boards, and equipment racks.
    • Cabling and Infrastructure: Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage wires including CAT6, HDMI, and fiber optics.
    • Live Operation: Monitor audio and video feeds, control sound levels, video gear, and run gear during live meetings, conferences, or performances.
    • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix signal failures, hardware malfunctions, or network connectivity drops quickly under pressure.
    • Maintenance and Tear Down:Pack up equipment safely after events, perform routine gear checks, and maintain accurate inventory records.

    Required Qualifications & Skills

    • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of audio signal flow, basic IP networking, and blueprints or wiring diagrams.
    • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work smoothly with clients, event planners, and team members.
    • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds, climb ladders, and stand or kneel for extended periods.
    • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED with 1 to 3 years of hands-on low-voltage or live-event experience.
    • Recording/Playback: Must be knowledgeable of multiple recording/playback codes, aspect ratios, and frame rates.
    • Relative fitness and stamina to work long hours.
    • Must have a State Driver License and transportation.
    • Must be able to pass a background check
