Department: Otorhinolaryngology-Audiology

Location: Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine-3400 Civic Center Blvd

Hours: Full-Time

Job Summary:

Level II audiologist is an expert in basic audiology including audiologic assessments, acoustic immittance, otoacoustic emissions. Has significant knowledge and competency in amplification and vestibular diagnostics. Participates in teaching medical students, residents and other healthcare professionals. Participates in departmental research activities.

Accountabilities:

  • Assists in supervising and training Level I audiologists in basic audiologic assessments
  • Participates in teaching medical students, residents and other healthcare professionals
  • Participates in departmental research activities
  • Diagnose and recommend appropriate treatment options for patients with communication deficits
  • Maintains an adequate knowledgebase and excellence in clinical care while constantly adapting to the evolving healthcare environment
  • Patient care accountabilities including evaluation, counseling and treating patients of varying ages and abilities. Includes maintenance of confidentiality and provision of exemplary customer care
  • Safety accountabilities including use of best practices for audiologic patient care, compliance with safety education and all service standards
  • Collaborates and communicates professionally and effectively with staff and faculty within and outside the department
  • Adheres to all departmental and health system policies and compliance requisites
  • Effectively communicates and ensures understanding of Penn Medicine mission, vision and values
  • Actively seeks out training and mentorship in an advanced audiologic procedures/treatments
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Qualifications:

  • Au.D. Audiology Completion of Clinical Fellowship year (Required)
  • 5+ years of Experience in Clinical Audiology (Recommended)
  • Competency in at least one specialized audiologic skill group (Required with hearing aids/amplification and vestibular testing preferred)

Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:

  • PA Audiology license (or eligibility for licensure) (Required)
  • ASHA and/or AAA certifications (Required)
