Overview:
The Department of Otolaryngology at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking an Audiologist to join the team.
Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment
- Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and tympanometry
- Interpret test results and develop treatment plans
- Recommend hearing aids and cochlear implants when appropriate
Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Care
- Work alongside ENT surgeons, otologists, and other healthcare professionals
- Stay updated on advancements in hearing technology and clinical best practice
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain detailed patient records, including evaluations, programming logs, and progress reports
- Ensure compliance with medical and audiological best practices
- Provide reports for insurance claims, medical referrals, and disability accommodations
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Must have obtained a doctoral degree in clinical audiology
- Must have a state license to practice audiology in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience in audiology or 4th year externship in audiology
- Diagnose hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders
- Ability to educate patients and families on hearing loss and hearing loss prevention
