 A Brief Overview

Provides a continuum of Audiology services that include the prevention, identification, diagnosis, consultation and treatment of patients with hearing or communication impairments. May participate in the implementation of the infant hearing screening and assessment program at UHCMC, program development, student preceptor ship and other advanced Audiologists duties.

What You Will Do
  • Patient evaluation, interpretation of findings, and management (55%).
  • Patient treatment (25%).
  • Documentation (5%).
  • Equipment use and maintenance (5%).
  • Advanced Audiologist duties (10%).
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
 

Qualifications

 Education
  • Master's Degree in Audiology (Required) and
  • Doctorate Degree in Audiology (Preferred)
Work Experience
  • 2+ years Of experience in a medical setting with adult and pediatric patients, hearing aids, OAEs, ENGs, and evoked response audiometry (Required) and
  • Cochlear implant experience (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Fundamental knowledge and the ability to apply the principles and practices related to Audiology, appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of patients on caseload. (Required proficiency)
  • Exposure and familiarity with audiometric equipment including audiometers, audiometric booths, immittance bridges, otoacoustic emissions, electronystamograph, auditory evoked responses, VRA, TROCA. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio to practice Audiology or awaiting Ohio Licensure in status of Licensure Applicant (Required) and
  • Must have Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) (Required) and
  • ABA Certification (Preferred)
