Audit Manager
A well-established mid-sized CPA firm in Norwalk, CT is growing its assurance practice and needs an Audit Manager who is ready to own client relationships, lead engagement teams, and build a clear path toward partner.

What you'll do
  • Lead end-to-end financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations for a diverse portfolio of middle-market clients under US GAAP and GAAS
  • Serve as the primary client contact - advising executives on complex accounting issues and delivering findings with clarity
  • Manage engagement economics: budgets, billing, scheduling, and resource allocation across simultaneous engagements
  • Review and sign off on working papers and draft financial statements prepared by senior and associate staff
  • Mentor and evaluate audit seniors and associates, providing structured feedback that accelerates their development
  • Identify and resolve technical accounting and auditing issues, escalating to partners where appropriate
  • Support partners on business development pursuits and internal practice management initiatives

What you need
  • Active CPA license (required - no exceptions)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
  • 5-8 years of progressive public accounting audit experience, including at least 1-2 years supervising or managing engagements
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and retain audit staff

Nice to have
  • Experience with middle-market or privately held company clients
  • Exposure to business development or proposal writing
  • Familiarity with audit software platforms (e.g., CCH Engagement, CaseWare)

Pay & benefits
  • Base salary: $135,000 - $165,000, based on experience
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match and profit-sharing opportunities
  • Paid Time Off
  • CPE reimbursement and professional development support
  • Defined partner-track advancement pathway

Location & schedule
Fully onsite - Norwalk, CT. Standard business hours, Monday-Friday. Some seasonal flexibility may apply during peak periods.

About & how to apply
This is a boutique-style firm that pairs deep technical expertise with a collaborative, relationship-driven culture - the kind of environment where senior CPAs can do meaningful work without the politics of a Big 4 setting. If you are a licensed CPA with public accounting audit management experience and you are ready to grow into a partner-track role, we want to hear from you.
