Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
A well-established public accounting and advisory firm is seeking an Audit Partner to lead and grow its Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) practice. This individual will oversee complex audit engagements, manage client relationships, mentor teams, and help drive strategic growth initiatives within the practice.
The role is highly visible and offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership while advising clients across the AEC industry on financial reporting, compliance, operational matters, and business strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage audit engagements for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) clients
Oversee audit planning, execution, financial statement review, and final reporting
Ensure compliance with applicable auditing standards, accounting guidance, and regulatory requirements
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing strategic financial and operational insights
Build and maintain strong client relationships across the AEC sector
Mentor, develop, and oversee audit staff and managers
Collaborate with internal leadership to improve efficiencies and support practice growth
Identify engagement risks and implement strategies to mitigate exposure
Participate in business development efforts, including sourcing new clients and expanding existing relationships
Review audit workpapers and deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy
Stay current on industry trends, accounting updates, and regulatory developments impacting AEC clients
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA designation required
12+ years of public accounting audit experience
Significant experience working with Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) clients
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and auditing standards
Proven leadership and client management experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines simultaneously
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience participating in business development and practice growth initiatives
This role can be based in Long Island, NYC, or South Florida.
