Audit Senior Associate - Baton Rouge, LAMauldin & Jenkins, LLC is seeking a Senior Associate for their Audit Practice. We are a Top 100 CPA Firm and have been a continuous entity since 1918.ResponsibilitiesAccurately and skillfully performing audits for private and closely-held companiesManaging multiple client engagementsEnsuring all engagements are complete and ready for Manager or Partner review within the established time frame and budget in accordance with M&J's quality control policiesManaging a team of two to five employeesEffectively communicating the accuracy of financial statements and other financial information to clientsContinuously fostering relationships with coworkers and clientsTraveling to client sites as requiredDeveloping presentation skills necessary to confidently present at audit committee meetings, industry or trade association events, office events, etc.Acting as a change agent; setting an example by accepting change and proactively supporting it (e.g., change in audit tools, different audit approach at the client, etc.)Participating in practice/location activities to help grow M&J (e.g., recruiting, firm training sessions, etc.)Developing interns and staff by delegating and training them to be successful in their careersProviding constructive formal and informal feedback in a timely manner to all levelsServing as a mentor to an intern and/or staff memberPerforming additional tasks as neededRequired Skills / AbilitiesHas a positive attitude that is reflected in work and evident to others; motivates othersProfessionalism is required while in the office and at a client siteSolid interpersonal and communication skillsManaging multiple audit client engagements throughout the yearAbility and willingness to travelMarketing the firm and servicesMust be able to lift 25 lbEducation and ExperienceB.A./B.S. in AccountingPublic accounting experienceUnderstanding of GAAS and GAAPOffice LocationBaton Rouge, LATrainingIn addition to on‑the‑job training, all employees will have multiple continuing education opportunities throughout the year.
