Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting (or similar program).
•5+ years of public accounting experience specifically in audit and pursuing the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
•In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles in the United States of America (U.S. GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
•Moderate to exceptional experience with Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and Microsoft Word.
•Quick learner and self-starter.
•Ability to quickly identify when it is necessary to ask questions or gain a further understanding of procedures to be performed.
•Ability to work independently as well as work in a small group setting. In-Charge engagements is a plus.
•Ability to adhere closely to deadlines and time budgets, including working overtime when necessary.
•In-depth knowledge of the auditing standards and auditing techniques (sampling, risk-based auditing, analyzing exceptions, etc.).
•In-depth knowledge of materiality, performance materiality, and trivial amount thresholds and generally what each are used for.
•Work location will be in the office (Chesterfield, MO), remotely (home), or at client sites, depending on the needs of Holt & Patterson and our clients.
•Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from employer.
•Working knowledge of CCH ProSystem FX Engagement software and Knowledge Coach is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
•Efficient preparation of high-quality audit documentation based on a thorough understanding of the client’s processes and procedures.
•Efficient preparation of clear and concise audit documentation relating to auditor testing of client transactions and events occurring throughout the period under audit.
•Effectively support the completion of a high-quality audit by working collaboratively with the Audit Director and other team members.
•Agree to and adhere closely to Holt & Patterson’s Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement.
