Summary:

Full Time Auditorium Manager at Zeeland Public Schools. Oversee the operation and maintenance of the district's performing arts facilities, equipment, and access to the facility by school and community use in accordance with the District educational standards and Board policies. Serves as a primary technical staff person for scheduled performance and facility functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule use of the Performing Arts Center by users from Zeeland High School, schools in the district, the district administration, the school district community and outside groups.
  • Serves as Technical Director for Zeeland High Player Productions.
  • Supervise Auditorium Assistant.
  • Establish procedures and operating guidelines for the Performing Arts Center.
  • Preparing and maintaining facility use schedule.
  • Determine and arrange for equipment needs of the Performing Arts Center.
  • Determine the staging and technical needs for proposed and scheduled events in the Performing Arts Center.
  • Determine level of technical staffing needed for scheduled events and arrange for technical assistance.
  • Assists technical staff in lighting, sound, and setup.
  • Assists in the setup and preparation of the Performing Arts Center; instruct in safe use of equipment, prepare sound system, set and focus lighting.
  • Prepare front of Performing Arts Center (lobby, ticket office, etc.).
  • Maintain security and equipment, equipment identification, tagging, and inventory system for facility equipment and supplies.
  • Work with students interested in technical aspects of theater, such as lighting, sound, props, set design, and construction.
  • Select, train and supervise students, staff and community members to be operators of lighting, sound, stage equipment and scene shop.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of the scene shop.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or/and coursework in Technical Theatre or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in theater production and management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with digital sound and lighting equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours ? days, evenings, weekends as determined by scheduled events.
  • Exhibits leadership skills in effective problem solving, human relations, interpersonal communication skills and bringing staff, students and community together to achieve a shared mission.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated successful administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to coordinate a multiplicity of simultaneous events.
  • Demonstrates administrative ability and experience in a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) management philosophy.
