Legal Entity Aultman Hospital Position Summary The Aultman Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional nurse that provides indirect, primary nursing care to patients. The RN delegates and coordinates patient care, based upon a documented assessment of the patients/residents needs. Department Summary The primary responsibilities of the On-Site Occupational Health Nurse is to deliver clinical and educational/wellness/onsite programs offered through AultWorks Occupational Medicine on-site at Wayne Dalton Door.The On-Site Occupational Health Nurse is an active member of the team assuring appropriate medical delivery and assisting in coordinating an individual clients health care services from the onset of injury or illness to a safe return to work or an optimal alternative. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse through the Ohio Board of Nursing. Obtain and maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) training in Basic Life Support (BLS) utilizing Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) is required. Department Qualifications Experience in coordinating services working with multiple systems and priorities. Knowledge of occupational and environmental health services, clinic management, governmental regulations, team process, quality improvement, teaching skills, and computer processes. Obtain and maintain training to become a BLS/First Aid Instructor Complete on the job training for the following: UDS collection instructor, BAT technician, pulmonary function tester, and audiology hearing tester. Experience in occupational health clinic nursing preferred but not required. Skills Proficient computer skills to complete tasks as required. Must be organized, able to effectively prioritize tasks and exhibit appropriate time management skills. Must be detail oriented while focusing on safe practices and quality care. Responsibilities Expectations RN applies the nursing process of assessment, planning interventions, accurately implements and/or delegates patient care, evaluates that care, and accurately communicates patient information in a timely manner. RN is a patient/resident advocate in conjunction with the other members of the healthcare team and fosters patient safety, comfort and satisfaction. Adhere to professional standards and guidelines, including ethical actions, relevant statutes, rules and regulations, during nursing practice. Collaborates with patient, family, and others in the conduct of nursing practice. Exhibits High Reliability Organization (HRO) tools and tones. Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues and students. Integrates research findings into practice. Responsible for timely review of emails, department communications and applicable learning assignments and completion as applicable. Department Responsibilities Expectations Works in conjunction with the AultWorks Executive Medical Director and Program Director to assist in coordination and delivery of occupational medicine services. Maintains AultWorks and Aultman Health Foundation standards of confidentiality. Assures compliance with Aultman Health Foundation/Hospital/AultWorks clinical policies and procedures. Attends appropriate seminars and conferences to meet the occupational nursing needs of AultWorks. Identifies and maintains communication among all stakeholders and team members. Co-manages in coordinating training, competency and ongoing education/training of the clinical staff to assure the staff is current, proficient and up to date in all aspects of their role. Assists in the coordination of ancillary clinical services; to include but not limited to urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing according to Federal Regulations; immunizations, annual medical screening and testing, safety education training and onsite nursing services. Provides direct care as needed under the direction of the occupational medicine physicians and utilizing established protocols. Provides occupational health surveillance testing including pulmonary function testing, audiometric testing, vision screening and other testing as appropriate. Serves as the occupational medicine program Urine Drug Screen (UDS) collector trainer as established in the 49 CFR Part 40 procedures that apply to the federally mandated transportation testing. Collaborates with the AultWorks management as well as Wayne Dalton Door representatives in designing and implementing onsite occupational nursing services. Develops and conducts educational programs to enhance and promote the goals of the occupational medicine program. Maintains awareness of technological and professional changes associated with occupational and environmental health and safety. Responsible for program compliance in all regulated areas, working in conjunction with the Medical Director, AultWorks Director and clinical staff. Working Conditions Meal and break times are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate coverage. Shifts are scheduled or changed due to the staffing needs of the unit/department based upon volume and acuity. Work weekends and holidays as assigned or as applicable based on department needs. Cross training depending upon department needs. Typically works M-F 8 hour shifts, day shift. Rare overtime as needed to meet deadlines or cover PTO. Works in well-lighted/ventilated office. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day based on customer needs. Hazardous Exposure Category Category II - Includes tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks. The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues by exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate protective measures will be readily available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks.
