By The Hand is a not for profit, religious organization. Individuals employed by By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ’s teaching.
Rate of Pay: $17.05 per hour
Overview of Position
Austin Harvest Student Coaches report to the Director of Austin Harvest and are accountable for the shipping, receiving, and inventory management of the products offered by the market. This role involves effective communication with vendors to ensure that the store is adequately stocked on a daily basis. Additionally, Student Coaches play a vital role in training youth entrepreneurs, both within the store environment and in classroom settings. They are also involved in the interviewing and onboarding process for new entrepreneurs. Beyond their daily market responsibilities, Student Coaches serve as representatives of Austin Harvest/By The Hand within the community. As such, they will be required to undergo training in public speaking and participate in various public appearances.
Spiritual Requirements
Has a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that demonstrates the Word of God, and is in regular fellowship with other members in a Bible-believing church.
Agrees with the By The Hand Club Doctrinal Statement and adheres to the Employee Biblical Standards of Living.
Shows by example the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.
Participates in weekly team prayer and devotion.
Has completed an evangelism course and is trained and prepared to share the gospel with anyone who inquires.
Works with leadership to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further the By The Hand's religious purpose and religious freedom.
Role Responsibilities
Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission, and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.
Models cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.
Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.
Participates in employee growth plans including quarterly conversations and annual review meetings.
Cleans store daily.
Orders products including, but not limited to produce, flowers, and supplies.
Sets up displays of produce and flowers.
Monitors and manages social media accounts.
Is trained by Flowers 4 Dreams in how to make floral arrangements.
Becomes certified as a Food Handler.
Manages the cash register and takes payments.
Sets the price of items.
Oversees young entrepreneurs.
Assists with training, development, and new student onboarding.
Participates in public speaking and leads tours.
Attends training sessions provided by the organization throughout the year.
Provides strong, spiritual mentorship (one-on-one or in small groups).
Performs all other duties as required and assigned.

Education and Experience
1-2 years of college, trade school, or post high school certificate.
Experience using Google Workspace, Google Drive and communication apps.
Work Environment
This job operates in a store environment. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as computers. This job is not a virtual job, but it requires in-person attendance as agreed upon by your immediate supervisor.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This role may require you to move equipment from room to room and lift up to 50 pounds. The individual is also required to travel to other organization sites to meet with staff. Periodically has to travel to other organizational sites for meetings and training.
