The State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services (DSS) - is accepting applications for one (1) Autism Waiver Program Supervisor, Developmental Services Supervisor of Case Management position located in Hartford, CT.
DSS is seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to serve as an Autism Waiver Program Supervisor and help strengthen services and supports for individuals with autism. The DSS Waiver for Persons with Autism provides vital home- and community-based services that promote independence, choice, and meaningful participation in the community.
In this role, you will lead and support a team of professionals, overseeing daily operations, establishing priorities, providing training, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery. You will also play a key role in monitoring individual-centered and waiver-driven quality standards, assessing available resources, and supporting compliance with program policies and procedures.
As a trusted leader and liaison, you will collaborate with staff, multidisciplinary professionals, other agencies, and community partners to address needs, resolve concerns, and advance effective practices. You will stay informed on emerging developments and trends related to intellectual and developmental disabilities and ensure Case Managers and staff have the knowledge and resources needed to support individuals effectively.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Departments of Developmental Services and Social Services this class is accountable for supervising Developmental Services Case Managers or Social Workers in a region or training school.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Considerable knowledge of
relevant agency policies and procedures;
relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations;
intellectual disability case management practices;
social problems resulting from an intellectual disability and methods for dealing with those problems;
inter-disciplinary approach to program planning;
Knowledge of
public and private resources for individuals with an intellectual disability;
relationships between facilities for individuals with an intellectual disability, community agencies, courts and health facilities;
Considerable
interpersonal skills;
oral and written communication skills;
Ability to utilize computerized software;
Supervisory ability.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
The General Experience is defined as one of the following:

NOTE: A degree that meets the eligibility criteria for certification/designation as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is a degree in the field of human services, healthcare or education including but not limited to: nursing, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, special education or sociology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of the General Experience must have been providing case management or casework services to individuals with an intellectual disability.
NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Developmental Services Case Manager.
