Job Description
The Auto Body Estimator is responsible for evaluating damage and preparing detailed repair estimates primarily for passenger cars. This role involves interacting with customers, coordinating repairs, and ensuring accurate cost analysis to facilitate efficient auto body repair services.
Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage accurately to determine repair needs
- Prepare detailed and precise repair estimates
- Analyze costs to ensure competitive and fair pricing
- Consult with customers regarding damage and repair options
- Source necessary parts for repairs
- Coordinate repair process with shop and technicians
- Document reports and maintain accurate records
- Ensure quality control throughout the repair process
- Communicate effectively with vendors and insurance representatives
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in auto body estimating
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair processes
- Familiarity with insurance claims processing
- Proficient with estimating software (e.g., CCC ONE, Audatex)
- Excellent customer service skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Effective time management skills
