Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mobility Technician to diagnose, install, maintain, and repair wheelchair-accessible vehicles and adaptive driving equipment. This includes servicing lifts, ramps, hand controls, transfer seats, power kneel systems, and secondary battery systems. The technician must ensure all modifications meet ADA compliance, manufacturer specifications, and customer safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Install and repair mobility equipment including BraunAbility, VantageMobility, and other major brandsPerform diagnostics and preventive maintenance on wheelchair lifts, interlocks, and electrical systems
- Wire and test auxiliary battery setups, relays, and inverter systemsEnsure ADA and NHTSA compliance on every install
- Use schematics, service manuals, and OEM documentation for accurate repairsDocument all work performed using shop software or ROs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and keep up with required certificationsAssist with inspections and state compliance as neededOccasionally assist with road tests and delivery of finished vehicles
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of mechanical or electrical experience (automotive, RV, or upfitting preferred)
- Strong understanding of 12V wiring and basic fabrication
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a variety of positions
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
