AutoCAD Drafter (Telecommunications & Utility Projects)

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter to support telecommunications and utility infrastructure projects across Wisconsin. In this role, you will create and modify technical drawings for fiber optic, power distribution, and utility layouts, helping deliver accurate, construction-ready designs.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise technical drawings using AutoCAD for telecommunications and utility projects
• Develop underground and aerial fiber layouts, utility plans, and construction drawings
• Interpret field data, sketches, and engineering notes to produce accurate design documents
• Prepare permit drawings and plan sets for municipalities and utility providers
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to ensure accuracy and project alignment
• Perform file management, data imports/exports, and maintain organized project documentation
• Review drawings for quality, completeness, and compliance with standards
• Assist with updates, revisions, and project deliverables as needed

Qualifications Required

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (1+ years preferred or relevant coursework/training)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based drafting and design work
• Occasional collaboration with field teams and project stakeholders
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment supporting multiple projects

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
