Pay rate: $45.00 - $50.00 per hr / Salary Target: $90,000 $100,000

Job Description:
Our client builds fully packaged process skid systems for clients in the natural gas distribution and clean energy sectors, including propane standby and peaking systems and hydrogen generation systems powered by water electrolysis. They need an experienced Piping and Skid Designer who can step into active projects quickly, take ownership of layout work, and collaborate efficiently with the engineering team. Independence is essential. The right candidate brings experience, not just availability.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven AutoCAD experience in piping and skid layout design
• Direct experience packaging pipe, valves, fittings, and instrumentation on industrial skids
• Ability to interpret component specs and produce buildable skid layouts independently
• Collaborative and responsive through iterative design cycles
• Able to manage multiple drawing sets and meet deadlines on parallel tasks
• Strong understanding of how 2D layouts translate to fabricated assemblies

Preferred / Desired Experience

• Ability to read, interpret, and redline P&ID documents
• Experience supporting skid projects from concept through fabrication-ready drawings
• Familiarity with piping materials, valve types, and fittings for gas and liquid service
• Prior exposure to propane distribution, natural gas utility infrastructure, or standby peaking systems
• Familiarity with hydrogen system layouts, high-purity gas handling, or electrolysis equipment
• Interest in energy transition or decarbonization applications
• Exposure to commissioning, field installation, or construction support
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.8, or B31.12
• Experience working alongside engineers and shop/fabrication teams
