Job Title: Automated Maintenance Technician
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking Automated Maintenance Technicians to support high-speed automated manufacturing operations in Rochester, NY. There are multiple levels available based on experience, ranging from Maintenance Technician II through Senior Maintenance Technician IV. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving automated production equipment to maximize uptime and productivity.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment and production systems
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, robotics, vision system, and automation-related issues
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance needs
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
  • Assist with installation, setup, validation, and transfer of new production equipment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Support calibration, facilities maintenance, and equipment upgrades as needed
  • Follow SOPs, GMP requirements, work instructions, and safety procedures
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical training, apprenticeship, vocational education, or equivalent maintenance experience preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems
  • Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, vision systems, and high-speed automation is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Manufacturing, packaging, formulation, or regulated production experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Manufacturing and laboratory environment
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and equipment troubleshooting throughout the shift
  • Exposure to automated machinery, moving equipment, chemicals, and regulated manufacturing processes
  • Ability to lift, move, and manipulate maintenance tools and equipment as required
  • Required use of PPE and adherence to all safety procedures
  • Flexible schedule availability to support production demands and maintenance priorities
 
Pay Rate:
  • $23.00 – $39.00/hour + Bonus Eligibility
    • 8% Shift Differential on Every Hour Worked
Shift:
  • Rotating 12-Hour Schedule:
    • 2 Days: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
    • 2 Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
    • 4 Days Off
    • Plus crossover time as scheduled
