An exciting opportunity for a Project Controls Engineer to support and enhance manufacturing control systems, automation technologies, and capital improvement projects within a production facility. Description

  • Support, maintain, and improve plant process control systems and associated automation equipment.
  • Troubleshoot process control, instrumentation, and equipment-related issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Develop, review, and update technical documentation including P&IDs, I/O drawings, and operating procedures.
  • Manage and execute controls-related capital projects from concept through implementation.
  • Support upgrades and maintenance of manufacturing control networks, computer systems, and automation infrastructure.
  • Coordinate engineering change initiatives while ensuring compliance with company engineering and safety standards.
  • Partner with maintenance and operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimize equipment performance.
  • Provide support for distributed control systems, quality control systems, and related manufacturing technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and technical teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with commissioning, system modifications, testing, and implementation of new equipment and controls.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through proactive identification and mitigation of operational risks.
  • Provide after-hours technical support for critical controls and automation issues when required.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally within Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in process controls, automation, electrical engineering, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of industrial control systems, process automation, and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Experience managing engineering or capital improvement projects.
  • Ability to interpret and update technical drawings, control documentation, and process diagrams.
  • Knowledge of industrial PLCs, HMI systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control technologies.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
