Description
- Support, maintain, and improve plant process control systems and associated automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot process control, instrumentation, and equipment-related issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Develop, review, and update technical documentation including P&IDs, I/O drawings, and operating procedures.
- Manage and execute controls-related capital projects from concept through implementation.
- Support upgrades and maintenance of manufacturing control networks, computer systems, and automation infrastructure.
- Coordinate engineering change initiatives while ensuring compliance with company engineering and safety standards.
- Partner with maintenance and operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimize equipment performance.
- Provide support for distributed control systems, quality control systems, and related manufacturing technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and technical teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with commissioning, system modifications, testing, and implementation of new equipment and controls.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through proactive identification and mitigation of operational risks.
- Provide after-hours technical support for critical controls and automation issues when required.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally within Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in process controls, automation, electrical engineering, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of industrial control systems, process automation, and manufacturing operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience managing engineering or capital improvement projects.
- Ability to interpret and update technical drawings, control documentation, and process diagrams.
- Knowledge of industrial PLCs, HMI systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control technologies.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
