Compensation: $37/hour (W2 contract, 24-month assignment)

An energy infrastructure company needs a hands-on Automation Commissioning Specialist to help bring power and energy facilities (battery storage, substations, and generation) online safely and on schedule. This is a field-based role on a commissioning team.
What You'll Own
- Support commissioning, startup, and system turnover for power and energy infrastructure
- Coordinate and execute FAT and SAT activities and startup procedures
- Validate control system configuration, startup/shutdown logic, alarm management, and SCADA integration
- Provide real-time field troubleshooting of PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems during energization
- Prepare and manage commissioning documentation, turnover packages, redline validation, and punch lists
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, and OEM teams in the field
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in automation, power generation, energy infrastructure, or commissioning
- Hands-on PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI experience
- FAT and SAT experience on power or industrial facilities
- Knowledge of automation protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, or IEC 61850
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, IEEE, and/or NERC standards
- Ability to work on-site daily in Eagle Mountain, UT
Nice to Have
- BESS, substation, or generation commissioning experience
- AssetCentre (or equivalent) automation configuration management
- Familiarity with switchgear, transformers, generators, MV/LV distribution, and protection relays
- A bachelor's in Engineering or Engineering Technology (not required)
If you know how to bring power systems to life safely and you thrive in the field during energization and startup, this is a meaty two-year commissioning assignment.
