Job Title: Automation Engineer
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Experience Level: 4 5 Years
Pay rate: $45/hr - $50/hr

Job Summary:
We are seeking a mid-level Automation Engineer to support the design, integration, commissioning, qualification, validation, and operation of automated warehouse and packaging systems in a GMP-regulated environment. The role will focus on ASRS, AGVs, robotics, PLC/HMI/SCADA, and industrial automation systems while ensuring compliance with GxP, FDA, safety, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design and integration of automated packaging, warehouse, ASRS, and AGV systems.
• Develop and maintain equipment, automation, and compliance documentation.
• Support commissioning, qualification, validation, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
• Work with Quality, CSV, IT/OT, Manufacturing, Packaging, Warehouse, and external vendors.
• Support PLC, HMI/SCADA, controls, robotics, and industrial networking systems.
• Ensure automation systems comply with GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, FDA, OSHA, and data integrity requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors and system integrators on technical deliverables and project execution.
• Support continuous improvement, system standardization, and reliable automation operations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with industrial automation in a GMP/GxP-regulated manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with automation, robotics, and automated material handling systems.
• Experience with ASRS and AGVs is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of PLC/HMI/SCADA, preferably Allen-Bradley, Siemens, RSView, or PanelView.
• Understanding of OT/IT integration, industrial networking, Industry 4.0, and IIoT.
• Familiarity with commissioning, qualification, validation, and CSV activities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
