Job Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Automation/Controls Engineer to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has a strong PLC/SCADA background within a GMP pharmaceutical environment and is comfortable troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment on the production floor. This is a mid-level opportunity for someone with a solid engineering foundation who is still technically hands-on and interested in continuing to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot manufacturing automation and controls systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI/SCADA, instrumentation, electrical, software, and industrial networking issues.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and support PLC-based automation systems.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and support SCADA/HMI systems.
• Support automated manufacturing equipment on the production floor.
• Support equipment integration, commissioning, FAT/SAT, qualification, and capital projects.
• Perform root-cause analysis and resolve automation-related issues.
• Support automation validation, change control, investigations, and data integrity activities.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Validation teams.
• Support continuous improvement of manufacturing automation systems.

Required Qualifications

• 4 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical automation/controls experience.
• Strong hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLC systems.
• Strong SCADA/HMI experience with systems such as Ignition, iFix, or WinCC.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial automation equipment.
• Experience working in GMP/cGMP manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of GMP, automation validation, change control, investigations, and data integrity.
• Experience with industrial networking and automation communication protocols preferred.
• Experience with sterile manufacturing or filling lines highly preferred.
• Experience with equipment integration, commissioning, FAT/SAT, qualification, or capital projects.
• Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Must be technically hands-on.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
