Position Summary The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability across Electrolit's operations. This role identifies opportunities to streamline workflows, implements tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Power Automate, and ensures system performance and stability. Working with cross-functional teams, the Automation Engineer delivers standardized, compliant solutions that reduce manual effort and drive productivity, cost savings, and continuous improvement. Location: Houston, TX - HQ Office Key Responsibilities - Design, configure, and maintain automation and control systems used to monitor and optimize operational processes such as warehousing and distribution, incorporating UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Microsoft Power Automate to automate business process workflows end-to-end.
- Develop technical designs, process flow diagrams, and system documentation supporting automation initiatives, including UiPath Studio workflow designs, Automation Anywhere Bot specifications, and Power Automate flow documentation.
- Configure, test, and support automation workflows and integrations to ensure stable and reliable performance across UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Power Automate platforms.
- Analyze system output, performance data, and quality indicators to identify opportunities for process improvement, leveraging UiPath Process Mining, Automation Anywhere Discovery Bot, or Power Automate Process Advisor.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of automation and instrumentation issues impacting operations, including bot failures and workflow errors across UiPath Orchestrator, Automation Anywhere Control Room, and Power Automate Admin Center.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to gather requirements and implement automation solutions aligned with Electrolit process standards, utilizing UiPath's task capture tools, Automation Anywhere's process documentation features, or Power Automate's guided workflow templates.
- Ensure automation systems comply with internal standards for performance, security, documentation, and change control, applying governance frameworks within UiPath Orchestrator, Automation Anywhere Control Room, and Microsoft Power Platform's Center of Excellence (CoE) Toolkit.
- Support upgrades, enhancements, and expansions of automation platforms to accommodate Electrolit growth, volume increases, and process changes across UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Power Automate environments.
- Monitor automation system performance and reliability using UiPath Insights, Automation Anywhere Analytics, and Power Automate's monitoring and alerting tools, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in projects related to operational efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement, including RPA-led initiatives using UiPath Agentic Automation, Automation Anywhere's AI Agent capabilities, or Power Automate Copilot-driven flows.
- Perform additional duties and project work as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems and RPA platforms, with hands-on experience across UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and/or Microsoft Power Automate.
- Proficiency with bot development, workflow configuration, and deployment across UiPath Studio, Automation Anywhere Bot Creator, and Power Automate flow designer.
- Ability to interpret process documentation and translate operational workflows into automation designs using UiPath Studio, Automation Anywhere, or Power Automate.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate system performance and identify improvement opportunities using UiPath Process Mining, Automation Anywhere Process Discovery, or Power Automate Process Advisor.
- Understanding of operational workflows within the CPG industry and distribution environments, including how RPA tools automate order management, inventory updates, and reporting workflows.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including training business users on Power Automate low-code flows or UiPath's attended bot capabilities.
- Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills, including maintaining both runbooks and change logs within UiPath Orchestrator or Automation Anywhere Control Room.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment, including concurrent RPA deployments across UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Microsoft Power Platform.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in automation, controls engineering, or industrial systems support.
- Hands-on experience UiPath, Power Automate or Automation Anywhere.
- Experience supporting automation in distribution environments.
- Experience working with system documentation, testing, and change management practices.
Physical Requirements - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move office materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
