Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX that is seeking a primarily remote Senior Automation Engineer III (AE III) to support and lead enterprise integration initiatives across complex, multi-system environments. This is a contract to hire role. Duties:
  • Design, build, and maintain test automation and integration workflows across enterprise platforms
  • Develop and support message-driven integrations using middleware and messaging technologies (e.g., MQ or similar tools)
  • Ensure reliable, accurate data exchange between systems across the integration layer
  • Support integration architecture and automation strategy for system validation
  • Perform comprehensive integration and automation testing across multiple systems and environments
  • Design and execute automated test suites and frameworks where applicable
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects, data inconsistencies, and integration gaps
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across distributed systems, including messaging failures and data discrepancies
  • Monitor integration workflows and support production deployments
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective solutions for system reliability issues
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including development, product, and operations
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint ceremonies, and integration planning
  • Ensure alignment across teams to deliver fully validated, production-ready solutions
  • Enhance automation coverage, testing strategies, and validation approaches
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing
Recommend improvements to:
  • Integration reliability
  • Test automation frameworks
  • System performance and scalability
Validate:
  • Message creation, delivery, and processing
  • Data transformation and integrity
  • System responses and downstream impacts

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate strong technical expertise and thrive in a high-ownership environment, taking full accountability for both development and quality
  • Experience working across complex, multi-system environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across distributed systems
Strong experience with:
  • Test automation frameworks and strategies
  • Enterprise integrations (APIs, middleware, or message-based architectures)
  • Messaging technologies (MQ, message queues, or similar tools)
Familiarity with:
  • REST/SOAP APIs
  • SQL or database querying
  • Data validation and transformation

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
